If I Could

If I could wake up to the sound of your voice
calling me for breakfast,
I will jump out of bed without pause
because I know you’re waiting for me.

If I could call you up any time I want
and listen to your voice that makes me melt,
I will not hang up at all but spend the day
trading stories with you.

If I could laugh at our silly antics
while listening to that deep chuckle of yours,
I know I will never have any reason at all
to shed tears of sadness when I’m with you.

If I could hear you whisper my name
with such longing and passion,
I will not waste another minute at all
but I will find a way to be with you.

If I could close my eyes with the thought
that I will wake up to your voice,
I will gladly kiss you goodnight
and whisper, “I love you.”

Those Moments

Those moments when we held hands,
gazing at each others eyes,
no words passing our lips yet
it felt like we’ve talked for ages.

Those moments when silence reigns,
yet we’re content in each others presence,
unconscious of the noise around us
just enjoying each others company.

Those moments that only lasted for seconds,
yet felt like eternity as time seemed to stop,
to prolong this delicious moment for the both of us.

Those moments that will forever be etched
in my memory palace where I brought you home,
to love and to cherish and to call you my own.

Fire and Ice

Cool and composed you appear to be
as the temperature drops with your icy gaze.
Yet I can feel the fire slowly starting,
whenever you turn your eyes my way.
How can I resist the smile that is forming
on these lips as I hold those eyes with mine?
You can play cool and detached all you want
but this I tell you true.
I will break that cool facade of yours,
smash it to bits, unmake and unman you.
I will reshape and remake you,
with fire and passion from these hands.
I will breathe new life to your soul
that you’ve forgotten for so long.
I will make it yearn to live with the fires of love,
while I break it free from its icy prison.
I will melt your indifference with heat,
that only comes with this love that burns,
until you understand that your cold demeanor
is no match with the fire that I can conjure.

I will write your name on pillars of sand
and etch your name on stones littering the ground.
I will carve your name on barks of wood
and print your name on blank pieces of paper.
I will call out your name against the night
and it will echo well beyond the daylight.
I will whisper your name to the stars
and I will sing your name to the angels above.
I will taste your name as it rolls from my lips
and I will delight in your name as I say it over
and over again.

Nature’s Beauty

Beauty I see with eyes that perceive
the world in its unadorned glory.
The skies painted in delicate shades
of blues and whites,
the land, vast and green, broken
by gorgeous mountains that soar
reaching up to the heavens above.
And on the edges, the beckoning waters
with their sparkling surface that glistens,
ripples sent from fingers that touch
its mirror like face that peers back.
Ripples coming back in roaring waves
pushed by strong winds that blow
from the far corners of the world reaching home.
And by the shore I realize
how insignificant I can be
when all the beauty of nature
comes crashing down on me.

Gratitude for the Liebster Award

It’s really nice to know that my poems and ramblings are appreciated and I want to send a big THANK YOU to Lydia who nominated me for the Liebster Award.

Liebster Blog Award

Liebster Blog Award

The rules are as follows:

    • Link back to the blog of the person who nominated you.
    • Display the Award logo on your blog/post
    • Answer the 10 random questions or make up your own questions/facts about yourself.
    • Nominate 10 other bloggers for the Award and link their blog sites (see below).
    • Notify the bloggers of their award – if they want to carry on the Award, by answering their own 10 questions, that’s great if not there is no obligation to do so.

Here are my 10 random questions/facts about myself just for the fun of it. 😀

1. Which do you prefer real books or e-books? I prefer to collect books rather than e-books because I love turning the pages for real and I love the smell of books. This is probably why my room is currently occupied by my mini library. 😀

2. What kind of adventure do you want to have? The kind of adventure I want to experience is visiting the provinces here in the Philippines and take lots of pictures and probably write a story or two about my experience.

3. Do you prefer to write traditionally meaning using pen and paper or using your computer? I  like to do both actually but I’m leaning towards using pen and paper because I love how I can create words out of nothing using my hands.

4. What kind of music do you listen to when you write? I often listen to rock and roll, new wave and some old songs (Beatles, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra) depending on my mood. I often turn the volume up too to drown out other sounds around me which, I think, drives my parents crazy unless of course I’m playing old songs. 😀

5. Who are your inspirations when you write? A lot actually. Again, this depends on the kind of poem I write. 😀

6. Have you written anything lately? I haven’t actually since my muse is somewhere else. I really need to get back to writing like right now.

7. How do you de-stress yourself? Hmm, mostly I stare outside my window and look at the trees in our backyard or just play with my dogs or gaze up at the stars at night. Sometimes turning off the lights and just lighting a candle here in my table helps me relieve my stress.

8. How many notebooks have you used up when writing? I think I’ve used up   6 notebooks at least and counting.

9. What’s your favorite song? Yes, this is a really random question. Anyway, my favorite song is Never My Love by The Association.

10. Why do you write? I write because I want to share the things that are running around in my head. I also see writing as a way to share the real me who I seldom show to other people. It’s a form of release for me and the fun part is when I find someone who can easily relate to what I’ve written.

Now that you know something about me, I’m going to nominate 10 bloggers who I think are worth including in your list of blogs to visit.

1. Wrong with Life

2. Hasty Words

3. Wuji Seshat Nibada

4. The Summer Goddess

5. Patinspire

6. Noah Matthews

7. Essentialism

8. Cariad’s Muse

9. A is For

10. Hughie Gibson

There you go my 10 nominees for the Liebster Award. I hope you enjoy reading their works as much as I did. 🙂

Again, my thanks to the beautiful Lydia for giving me such a wonderful surprise this morning. Thank you for making my day a little bit brighter.

Shapeless We Are

Shapeless we are in this world we create,
with our minds that long for an escape from
the cruel injustices inflicted on two hearts,
that yearn for complete surrender to a love
they know is right from the very start.

Shapeless we are with our souls adrift in space,
seeking out our other half in this eternal darkness
to make us come alive and whole once more,
and see the beauty in life through each other’s eyes.

Many Thanks for the Team Member Readership Award

I am thankful once again to Jane of http://johannisthinking.com for nominating me for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award. For the record, you should drop by the blogs of my nominees because they are absolutely great. I often pick up a lot of things from their works and they also give me inspiration to keep this blog running. Of course, I have to deal with the things in my head but I guess it’s all worth it knowing that there are people out there I can touch even in the smallest way.
